The Style Exchange Outline:
EVENT COST
Entry fee is $35 per person. Payment must be made upon registration and prior to the event. Last registrations and payments no later than Wednesday September 1st.
PAYMENT
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to BSB: 062-679 Account No: 10283401 (Drab2Fab account) or deposit payment into this account at your nearest Commonwealth Bank.
Please make sure you put your name in the Transaction Description.
Alternatively send a cheque for $35.00 to PO Box 5042, Barrack Heights 2528.
NOTE: Your receipt is proof of registration to attend the event and also to collect your Style Exchange KIT. KITS are available from CASA MIA LINGERIE in Thirroul, BELLA MIA BODY & HAIR in Dapto, TOP STITCHING in Oak Flats, FERNWOOD in Shellharbour or by contacting JULIE ROLLINSON on 0407965984.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Fabulous ladies with clothing sizes S, M & L are recommended. (As this is our launch event we are catering for the majority of women but may target more specific groups in the future).
WHAT TO EXCHANGE
All well-kept wearable pieces and accessories that are ready for a new life are welcome. From designer outfits & formal wear to corporate clothing & very good quality basic garments, please keep in mind that quality is key to ensure The Style Exchange is a success for everyone. If you haven’t worn or used an item for 2 years, it is highly unlikely you will. Items become outdated and lose their value the longer tags are left on or they stay unloved / unworn in your wardrobe!
STYLE EXCHANGE GUIDELINES
To participate in the swap you can provide up to 10 items of clothing or accessories (eg: coats, jackets, hats, scarves, belts, handbags and shoes).
These guidelines will assist you in choosing items from your wardrobe that will become a new treasure for someone else:
• Items likely to be valued by others
• No longer your precious or favourite pieces, so you should be emotionally detached!
• Items must be in good to excellent condition and not outdated (unless vintage).
• We cannot swap items that are too far from perfect or are incomplete.
• Items maybe rejected if they do not meet the quality requirements.
• All garments / accessories must be freshly cleaned, pressed or polished.
• NOTE: swap at your own risk.
While you may have donated some great pieces, we cannot guarantee that you will find perfect garments or accessories to replace them. However, any item that you feel is too precious to exchange can be placed on a separate sale rack and sold for a bargain price. (eg: you could offer a garment that was originally $750 for $100 or something you purchased for $150 could be $20)
HOW THE CLOTHES EXCHANGE WILL WORK
Donated clothing and accessories become your currency. You will receive tokens depending on the value, quality and number of items you are willing to exchange.
For example:
• Garments retailed at $75.00 to $150.00 = one exchange token
• Garments retailed at $150.00 to $300.00 = two exchange tokens
• Anything over $300.00 = three exchange tokens
Once you have selected items to exchange or sell, complete the information on the appropriate drop tags (see examples) and attach the drop tag to each item in a prominent place eg: collar.

PRE-EVENT DROP OFF TIMES
For efficiency and correct categorisation, ONLY SPECIAL ITEMS you wish to SELL will be ACCEPTED on the day of the event. All swap items are to be dropped off at the following locations and times:
• DRAB2FAB STUDIO: 134 Captain Cook Drive, Barrack Heights on Sun 29th Aug between 12:00pm - 3:00pm, or Mon 30thAug to Wed Sept 1st from 4 - 7pm.
• TOP STITCHING: Shop 2/64 Central Avenue, Oak Flats during business hours (Mon - Sat) two weeks prior to the event up to Wed Sept 1st.
• Contact JULIE ROLLINSON on 0407 965 984 for any other arrangements.
CHECKING IN ON THE DAY
Bring your payment receipt for entry. Check in time will commence at 12:45pm. This is when you will be given your tokens – the amount is dependent on the items you donated to the swap. The check-in process will take up to 30 minutes, in which time you can mingle and enjoy a glass of bubbly before the
presentations.
THE PRESENTATIONS
• Jane Allen from STYLEDGE Image Consulting will conduct a session on dressing for your personality whereby all participants will receive a “personality style survey” to complete .
• Julie Rollinson from DRAB2FAB Image Consulting will discuss body shapes and give tips on how to accentuate the great and mitigate the not so great.
• Claudeen Fraser from INTIMO will talk about the importance of a well fitting bra and wearing the right underwear to achieve your desired look.
Once the presentations are completed you can start swapping and shopping!
SWAP ETIQUETTE
• Always be polite to fellow swappers!
• Don’t rush! Take your time to see what is best for you.
• Only carry and try on 4 items at one time.
• Get advice from your image consultants on suitability of items
• Return unwanted items to the rack where you found them, or to an event volunteer.
• If 2 or more swappers want the same item, your image consultants will help that garment go to the right body!
• When you have decided on your new items proceed to the check out desk to submit your tokens and have your items bagged ready to go.
FYI: Swapping clothing diverts these organic materials from landfill. In landfill they produce methane, a greenhouse gas with the global warming capacity 20 times stronger than CO2.
